Who built it
DefenseTools.app is built and maintained by Sorin & Pyle, Trial Lawyers, a criminal defense firm in Holland, Michigan. Sorin Panainte (P85326) and Jonathan Alan Pyle (P81692) try criminal cases in Michigan courts, and the tools here come out of that practice — built to do the repetitive math we'd otherwise do by hand. We use them ourselves.
How it works
Each tool performs automated calculations from the inputs you enter and from publicly available Michigan statutory and court-rule sources. The tools do not interpret facts, recommend inputs, or give legal advice, and using one does not create an attorney-client relationship. Always verify any result against the current statute, court rule, and record before you rely on it.
